​​'Carers' Photo Series 2024 -

 

'Carers' is an ongoing photo series I started in 2024. Its looks to highlight the work of Carers and explore the politics of Care in the UK and the pressures it faces under the current political system.

​

The series was inspired by the end of life care my mother provided for my grandmother in her final years of life. What I saw whilst trying to help look after her was the amount of work involved and the lack of recognition and support available to those caring for others on both a professional and personal level.

 

This series of portraits hopes to make the invisibility of the work visible by showing the faces behind the work. This project acts as a small tribute to those individuals and hopes to emphasise the value care deserves to have.
